JC Tech, a Taiwanese drone systems integrator, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with a leading international defense radar company, securing the exclusive distribution rights in Taiwan for its AI-powered Active Electronically Scanned Array (AI AESA) Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Counter-UAS) radar solutions.

Integrating the “spear” of indigenous strike drone technologies with the “shield” of advanced Counter-UAS radar capabilities, the partnership establishes Taiwan’s first fully integrated low-altitude defense platform, combining offensive operations, defensive protection and systems integration. The agreement also includes an Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) partnership to manufacture Counter-UAS radar systems in Taiwan, combining Taiwan-developed drone technologies with locally manufactured radar systems for global supply, strengthening Taiwan’s position in the global non-red supply chain while meeting growing international demand for low-altitude defense technologies.

Designed for military operations and critical infrastructure protection, the integrated platform combines AI edge computing, modular payload architecture and AI AESA Counter-UAS radar technologies, enabling tactical reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, precision strike missions and industrial inspection. Following system integration, the platform will be capable of detecting drones as small as 35 cm at ranges exceeding 10 km, providing all-weather surveillance for airports, seaports, energy facilities and other critical infrastructure.

The integrated platform also supports multi-target tracking and AI-assisted target recognition, providing operational capabilities covering low-altitude threat detection, target identification, tracking and countermeasure operations.

The collaboration represents a significant milestone for Taiwan’s defense technology sector, positioning JC Tech among the few Taiwanese companies possessing indigenous strike drone technologies, Counter-UAS radar capabilities and complete systems integration expertise. Together with localized radar manufacturing, the partnership further reinforces Taiwan’s role in the rapidly expanding non-red defense supply chain.

JC Tech has invested extensively in indigenous drone research and development, establishing comprehensive in-house capabilities spanning aircraft design, manufacturing and systems integration. Its core technologies are developed entirely outside the Chinese supply chain, making it one of Taiwan’s first drone manufacturers to achieve fully indigenous drone development and production.

In 2025, the company was placed on China’s export control list, highlighting the strategic importance of its proprietary technologies and its contribution to the non-red supply chain. Its technologies have also been validated in demanding operational environments, attracting growing attention from government agencies and defense organizations across Japan, South Korea, the United States and the Middle East.

To accelerate international expansion, JC Tech recently joined forces with Taiwanese optical thin-film specialist ProOptics Corporation and Oplus Technology to establish Oplus Group, integrating expertise in optical modules, power systems, AI edge computing and drone manufacturing to deliver comprehensive low-altitude defense and smart inspection solutions.

In late June, Oplus Group participated in an international investment forum hosted by JD WealthWise Capital in Tokyo, where it held fundraising discussions with more than ten leading Japanese investment institutions and family offices. The group’s indigenous drone technologies and vertically integrated supply chain attracted significant investment interest from international investors, with several Japanese and U.S. corporations and institutional investors expressing interest in potential investments and strategic partnerships.

Through JD WealthWise Capital’s international empowerment platform, Oplus Group has established connections with global investors, strategic partners and cross-border capital market resources, laying a solid foundation for future international expansion and capital market positioning. The Tokyo forum also highlighted the growing international recognition of Taiwan’s indigenous drone technologies and the increasing strategic importance of the non-red supply chain in the rapidly evolving low-altitude defense industry.

Looking ahead, JC Tech will continue integrating drone platforms, AI edge computing, advanced sensing technologies and Counter-UAS radar systems to build a comprehensive low-altitude defense ecosystem supporting military defense, public safety, industrial inspection, smart agriculture, border security and international technology cooperation. Through localized manufacturing and rapid deployment capabilities, the company aims to help global partners establish secure, autonomous and sustainable unmanned systems supply chains while accelerating the deployment of trusted low-altitude defense technologies in international markets.

“This partnership completes the critical ‘spear and shield’ architecture of Taiwan’s low-altitude defense capabilities,” said Robert Cheng, CEO of JC Tech. “By integrating indigenous strike drone technologies with internationally advanced Counter-UAS radar capabilities, we are strengthening Taiwan’s leadership in defense innovation and the non-red supply chain. Through JD WealthWise Capital’s international empowerment platform, we will continue expanding into Japan, the United States, South Korea, the Middle East and Southeast Asia while delivering trusted, autonomous and cost-effective unmanned system solutions.”

The collaboration is expected to further strengthen Taiwan’s position as a key supplier within the global non-red low-altitude defense supply chain.
